Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Brown the beef

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef and cook 4–5 minutes until browned.
Drain excess fat if needed.

2. Add the aromatics

Stir in diced onion and cook 2 minutes until softened.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Build the chili base

Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and ½ cup water or broth.

4. Simmer

Reduce heat and simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add more water if you want a looser chili.

5. Taste & adjust

Add salt, pepper, or extra chili powder to taste.

6. Finish & serve
